One is control, one is letting go under ones own free will. "If" Reminds us of what it means to be flexible and gracious with ourselves and others. 

I discovered this poem years ago in my twenties as I was navigating a big world full of new and harsh lessons that would begin to damage the thoughts of my value, my abilities and my future.
